Coca-Cola is an American icon. It is one of the three sacraments (hot dogs and hamburgers being the other two) of American civil religion. Coca-Cola first reached this status in World War II when the Company promised to make cold bottles of Coca-Cola magically available to every GI any place in the world...and then, more or less, made good on the promise. So, as to...you kn...uh...Pepsi Cola?...well, give me that old-time civil religion! |
